John Wilson

May 30, 1931 — August 24, 2013

John Calvin Wilson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on August 24, 2013 at St. Joe Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of eighty two years, two months and twenty five days. He was born on May 30, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to the late Robert V. Wilson and Grace (Stroupe) Wilson.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Wilson, son Michael Wilson and sister Martha Brown.

John was a member of the Potosi First Baptist Church.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are two daughters Sheryl Rowden and husband Mike of Bonne Terre, Sally Elrod and husband Stan of Ballwin; step daughter Dawn Eaton and husband Don of Farmington; step son John Lee of Potosi; brother Joe Wilson and wife Georgia of Overland; sister Grace Vance of St. Loui; daughter in law Nancy Wilson of Kansas; six grandchildren David Rowden and wife Melissa, Stephanie Rowden, Tim Elrod, Scott Elrod, Sarah Merriman and husband Ben, Matthew Wilson; Brothers Clifford Coble and wife Patricia, Everett Coble and wife Kaffee, Steve Coble and wife Mary; Sisters Maxine Williams, Carol Hill and husband Lonnie, and Judy Eye and husband Gervis; Brother in law Bob Welch and wife Betty; and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Haguewood officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Rowden, Stan Elrod, David Rowden, Tim Elrod, Matthew Wilson, and Scott Elrod.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
