John Leon White of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 22, 2007 at his residence, having reached the age of 72 years, 7 months and 14 days. He was born at St. Joseph, Missouri on June 8, 1934.
On February 20, 1965 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Thompson at St. Louis, Missouri. Bonnie preceded him in death on September 30, 2002. John then married Nadine Smith on April 19, 2003 at Potosi, Missouri. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
In addition to his first wife, John was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Howard and Violet (Wilfong) Howard; and a son, Rusty Thompson.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Nadine White of Potosi; his son, Johnny White and wife Sharon of Potosi; his daughter, Lisa Gilbert and husband Shelby of Potosi; three step daughters, Angel Dallas of Wisconsin, Jeannette Rardin of Mississippi and Delores Rogers of Mississippi; four brothers, Marvin Howard, of St. Joseph, Ralph Howard of Kansas City, Frank Howard of St. Joseph, Joey Howard of Lincoln, Nebraska; four sisters, Betty White of St. Joseph, Joyce Howard of St. Joseph, Jeanie Howard of St. Joseph, Victoria Howard of Union Star, Missouri; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
A graveside service was conducted on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, 2PM, at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Roger Taber officiating. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
