John Thurston of Bismarck, Missouri departed this life on June 21, 2012 at his residence having reached the age of seventy years, eight months and five days. He was born on October 16, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to the late Elmer Thurston and Marion (Cottle) Thurston.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife Mae Lucille Thurston.
John served in the United States Army from January 1960 to December 1960.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his four sisters in law Gerry King of Farmington; Peggy Nicholson of Cadet; Judy Litterell-Mathenia of Bonne Terre; Mary Owens of Bismarck; brother in law Robert Mayfield of St. Louis; brother Jerold Thurston of Indiana; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating . Serving as pallbearers were Michael Hart, Pat Nicholson, Wes Littrell, Amos Littrell, Robert Mayfield and Paul Wohlbold.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
