John Niemeyer

December 11, 1952 — October 17, 2019

John Edward Niemeyer of Richwoods, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, October 17, 2019, having reached the age of sixty-six years, ten months and six days. John was born on December 11, 1952 in West Alton, Missouri, a son of the late Carroll Fred Niemeyer and the late Rose Marie (Carter) Niemeyer.

On August 24, 1985, John was united in marriage to Patricia Naylor and they shared 34 years together.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Niemeyer; six children: David (Emily) Niemeyer, Christina (Vincent) Webber, David (Lisa) Betts, Tabitha (Martin) Arnold, Shannon (Michelle) Betts, Tobey (Jason) Adams; two siblings: Carroll (Diane) Niemeyer Jr. and Patricia Zimmerman; eighteen grandchildren: Chapman, Zachary, Ellie, Harrison, Danyel, Corey, Zachary, Coty, Tanner, Trevor, Caleb, Caitlyn, Trenton, Autumn, Kiley, Chloe, Madelynn and Izaak; three great grandchildren: Shae, Erin and Rolland; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to John’s father and mother, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Mary Wense, Lester Niemeyer, and Cindy Staats.

John was a wonderful man who loved the Lord with all of his heart and enjoyed doing His work. John enjoyed reading his Bible and singing gospel songs. Family was also very important to him. He loved his grandchildren very much and enjoyed the time he spent with them. John had a strong work ethic and never liked to sit idol. He always kept himself busy working. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:30 PM held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125. Pastor Timothy Naylor will officiate. John will receive full military honors consisting of flag folding and presentation, Taps and gun salute.

Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
