John Ed Maness, Sr. of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on June 29, 2005 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of 74 years and 16 days. He was born on June 13, 1931, at Kingston (Bliss), Missouri, a son of the late Roy Henan Maness and Margaret (Cain) Maness.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles (Chuck) Edward DeClue.
Those who remain to mourn his passing include his special friend, Blanche Maness of Cadet; his sons, William (Bunny) Maness and wife Linda of Cadet, John Maness, Jr. of Cadet, Steven Maness and special friend Neil Macernie of Rio Rancho, NM; a daughter Shirley Gowen and husband William of Bonne Terre; two sisters, Kelli Louise Maness of Park Hills and Orea Stuthers of Mineral Point; nine grandchildren and a very special granddaughter, Melissa Schwendemann; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 AM Friday, July 1, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Melvin Crider officiating. Serving as pallbearers were
Interment was in the Maness Cemetery, Cadet. All arrangements were entrusted to the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
