John Laramore

March 31, 1938 — May 21, 2010

John Robert Laramore of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on May 21, 2010 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy two years, one month and twenty one days. He was born on March 31, 1938 at Belgrade, Missouri a son to the late Louie Laramore and Alice May (Pierce) Laramore.

On September 10, 1975, John was united in marriage to June Jones and they shared thirty five years together. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Potosi.

John liked fishing, hunting and the outdoors. One of the highlights of his life in the last few years was a trip out west with his brothers visiting Jackson Hole, Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park.

John also loved going to Branson and Silverdollar City with June. He spent many hours visiting at the local coffee shop and lumber yard telling stories of long ago. John was loved by everyone that met him. He was able to charm you over quickly with his good humor and smile. He never met a stranger and if he did, they wasn?t a stranger when they left. He was a man that loved his wife and family and was there if anyone needed anything.

John spent his retirement days up in his field feeding the cows, horses, fishing and taking care of his garden, for two that ended up being consumed by many.

Above all the things he enjoyed during his retirement, was the time spent with his grandchildren and June. Those times were the most treasured.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a daughter Darla Thompson;brother Jimmy Laramore; two nephews David Paul Laramore; Brad Laramore; one brother in law Nunis Jones; and a nephew Lester Wayne Schroer.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife June Laramore of Mineral Point; four sons Robbie Laramore of Potosi; Joe Nivens and wife Deirdre of Mineral Point; Michael Nivens and wife Marcia of Salem; Roger Nivens of St. Louis; two daughters Diane Wells and husband Steve of Salem; Debra Volcek and husband John of Salem; four brothers Glen Laramore of Potosi; Donald Laramore and wife Jody of Caledonia; George Laramore and wife Janet of Greensburg, KY; Raymond Laramore and wife Donna of Houston, Missouri; six sisters Melba Jones of Greensburg, KY; Wilma ?Sissie? Coy and husband Arthur of Potosi; Mary Ann Schroer and husband Lester of Potosi; Erma Harrelson and husband James of Potosi; Phyllis Long and husband Bill of Potosi; Elaine O?Bryan and husband Mike of Festus; siser-in-law Juanita Laramore; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11AM at the First Baptist Church of Potosi with Rev. Jamie Haguewood officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jerry West, George Rook, John Hall, Lessel Mosier, Ethan Crump, Caleb Crump. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Nipper, Paul Eye, Ellis Coleman, and Linnie Goodson.

Interment and final prayers were held at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
