John Riley Knight, Jr. of Caledonia, Missouri departed this life on April 1, 2009 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of seventy five years, eight months and fourteen days. He was born on July 18, 1933 at Cadet, Missouri, a son to the late John Riley Knight, Sr. and Hattie Knight.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son Jimmy Knight and daughter Tammy Knight.
On June 16, 2001, John married Norma Lucas and they shared seven wonderful years together. John was a member of the Church of God of Jesus Christ. John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life are his wife Norma Knight of Caledonia; son Richard Knight and wife Vera of Cadet; two daughters Debbie Smith and husband Mark of Valles Mines; Kathy Mosier and husband Donald of Mineral Point; step daughter Charolette Crider and husband Kevin of Bismarck; two step sons Robert King and wife Heather of Caledonia; Giles King and wife Shawn of Farmington; father in law Otho Lucas; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two special friends Donald and Betty Akers of Potosi; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 1 PM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Melvin Crider officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Mosier, David Grimwood, Eli Grimwood, James Smith, Christopher Smith, and Robert King.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
