John Drake

John M. Drake of Potosi, Missouri was born on August 10, 1937 in Osceola, Missouri, a son of the late Clarence William Drake and the late Connie Martha (Leach) Drake. On October 10, 1985, John was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Barnes and they shared nearly thirty-four years together. John passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2019 at his home having reached the age of eighty-one years, eight months and nine days.

John will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his loving wife, Shirley Drake; three children: Jackie Drake-Morrison, Barry (Kathy) Curneal, Gina (Mark) Barron; six grandchildren: Adam Davis, Eric Cobillas, Cody Barron, Blake Harper, John (Mary) Jolly Jr., and Melanie (Jeff) Brock; one great granddaughter, Maddy Rollings; two sisters: Judy Cline and Linda Dykes; and special nieces: Connie (John) Leonard and Karen Bourbon.

In addition to John's parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Drake and one sister, Martha Jones.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will follow on Tuesday, beginning at 1:00 PM held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.

Funeral arrangements for John were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
