John Cain

August 27, 1937 — February 3, 2016

John Alvin "Johnny Cake" Cain of Mineral Point, Missouri passed away on February 3, 2016 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of seventy eight years, five months, and seven days. He was born on August 27, 1937 in Mineral Point, Missouri, a son to the late Roy William and Allie Elizabeth (Skaggs) Cain.

John is survived by his seven children: John Cain and wife Rose of Potosi, Beth Minx and husband Rick of Cadet, Lois Kramer and husband Frank of Potosi, Lisa Miller of Potosi, Stanley Cain of Cadet, Lettie Boyer and husband Mark of Cadet, and Brandi Velasquez of Park Hills; step mother Maudie Marie Cain of Potosi; five brothers: Everett Cain and wife Ann of Park Hills, Wyman Cain of Potosi, Ronald Cain and wife Joyce of Potosi, Bob Cain of Iowa, and Larry Skaggs and wife Debbie of Potosi; six sisters: Anna Grupe and husband Dane of Illinois, Elma Sheridan of New Hampshire, Joyce Carr of Potosi, Brenda Castillo and husband Jerry of Potosi, Linda Winick and husband Chuck of Potosi, and Irene Kearns and husband Will of Mississippi; twenty two grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and also many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his three brothers: Donald Cain, Pete Cain, and David Skaggs; sister Debbie Eckhoff; grandson Lucas Cain; and former wives: Dolores Cain and Rebecca Watts.

Visitation for John will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, February 6, 2016, beginning at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bob Adams officiating.

Honoring John by serving as his pallbearers will be Frankie Kramer, Brandi Velasquez, Randy Bowles, Dusty Minx, Johnny Miller, and Stanley Cain.

Interment and final prayers will be held at the New Diggins Cemetery in Mineral Point, Missouri. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home.
