John Boisonault

May 24, 1955 — September 4, 2019

John Louis Boisonault was born on May 24, 1955 in Jamaica-Queens, New York, a son to Helen (Rountree) Boisonault and the late Louis Boisonault. On January 1, 2000, John was united in marriage to Laurel Baker and they shard nineteen years together. After living in New York, John moved to Key West, Florida where he owned a bookstore. From there, John moved to the mountains in Blairsville, Georgia. John and his wife, Laurel, opened Rountree’s Furniture Store where John was able to build and sell his own beautiful, handcrafted work. After some time in Georgia, John and Laurel moved to Cadet, Missouri. John had a passion for the arts which was reflected in his various business ventures. He was a gifted furniture maker, an expert rare book and letters dealer, and a talented guitarist. John was also an outdoorsman: an avid fisherman, marksman, and naturalist. Perhaps what he will be remembered for most is the exceptional way he touched the lives of so many.

John entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 5, 2019 at his residence having reached sixty-four years of age.

In addition to his grandparents, John is preceded in death by his father, Louis Boisonault; brother-in-law, Artie Pedersen; and his special aunt, Gaby.

John will be missed by all who knew and loved him including his beloved wife, Laurel Boisonault; daughter, Marguerite (Jeff) Boisonault Lako; mother, Helen Boisonault; three sisters: Mary Pedersen, Lucille (Pete) Vitale, and Elizabeth Morales; four grandchildren: Harley, Charlotte, Dominic and Benjamin; also surviving are many dear nieces, nephews and extended family.
