John Bequette

John Thomas Bequette of Richwoods, Missouri, was born on October 15, 1941 in Blackwell, Missouri, a son of the late Wallace and Rose (Villmer) Bequette. John passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, having reached the age of 81.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Wallace Arthur "Wally" Bequette; sisters, Bernadette Bequette and Christine Daugherty.

Those who remain to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years, Ruth Bequette; children: Keith Bequette, Roger Bequette, and Michelle Khani (husband, Fred).

John proudly served in the United States Army from January 19, 1960 until January 18, 1966. He enjoyed farming cattle, and watching the cattle auction—he was a third generation farmer. He loved traveling with Ruth and for 29 years they spent their winters in St. Cloud Florida. They enjoyed boating, fishing, walking, and riding bicycles together. The memories that the family shared will be forever in their hearts and will miss John greatly.

A memorial visitation will be Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of his service at 1 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664. Musical selections will be How Great Thou Art and How Beautiful Heaven Must Be. Military honors will be presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996.
