Jim Yount

January 20, 1928 — July 15, 2018

Jim Yount of Potosi, Missouri was born on January 20, 1928 in Kennett, Missouri, a son to the late Jesse and Avis (Evans) Yount. On December 26, 1969, Jim was united in marriage to Delores Arndt and they shared forty-eight years together. Jim was a United States Army Veteran and served during World War II. He later retired from Beemis Company.

Jim passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached ninety years of age. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by two brothers: Gene and Tom Yount; step-son, Stanley McGough; and his first wife, Nancy (McRoy) Yount; grandson Devin York.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Delores "Dee" Yount; son, John (Toni) Yount; siblings: Eithel Wallace, Wanda (James) Faulkner, John (Linda) Yount, Jerry (Susan) Yount, Larry (Sylvia) Yount, Jess Yount, and Frank Yount; four grandchildren: James (Crystal) Yount, Sarah (Stephen) Jones, Angela Yount, Dawn (Joseph) Rossetti; four great-grandson, Ian, Alison, Jackson, and Mia; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 4:30 until 8:00 PM and will resume on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, held at DeClue Funeral Home.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018, held at DeClue Memorial Chapel. Interment and final prayers will be shared at Hopewell Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri.

All funeral arrangements have been cared for by DeClue Funeral Home.
