Jim Cartee

July 20, 1934 — January 17, 2011

Rev. Jim Willard Cartee of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on January 17, 2011 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy six years, five months and twenty eight days. He was born on July 20, 1934 at Alton, Missouri a son to the late Ralph Cartee and Betsy (Morrison) Cartee.

On May 28, 2005, Jim was united in marriage to Sandra Gamble and they shared five years.

During Bro. Cartee’s ministry, he served as Pastor for seventeen years at Calvary Tabernacle and five and a half years at New Beginning.

While at Calvary he served on the District Board and Presbytery of Section 4 of the Pentecostal Church of God.

God blessed Bro. Cartee greatly thru his years of ministry. There were several things he was proud of. There was a period where God blessed him with seven full time ministers attending his church. He felt very blessed that God allowed him that honor.

He was always thankful for his youth. From that came preachers, worship leaders, singers, teachers and a host of help workers in the church.

While at New Beginnings he moved into a ministry he dearly loved. Bro. Cartee and Sandi, with a group of friends, went weekly to Georgian Gardens and Potosi Manor and ministered to the residents.

He was a pastor who loved and served his God and his church with all the love he had in him. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a baby brother Larry Joe, his first wife Wanda (Cowin) Cartee, three grandchildren Dennis Ross Nickles, Brittany Nickles and Joel Gamble.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Sandra Cartee of Mineral Point; three daughters Janet Whitaker and husband George of Mineral Point, Rochelle Nickles and husband Dennis of Mineral Point, Lawana Gamble of Mineral Point; three sons Ross Gamble and wife Melody of Potosi, Lloyd Shoults and wife Erma of Mineral Point, David Gamble and wife Wanda of Silex, Missouri; special adopted daughter Virgie Sansoucie of Potosi; one brother Don Cartee and wife Martha of Auxasee, Missouri; twenty one grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
