Jewell Lee Brown was born on March 26th, 1935, in Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter to Fred Belfield and Ida (Sheppard) Belfield. Jewell went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 16th, 2023 at the age of 87.
Jewell was proud to be a licensed nurse with the state of Missouri for over 50 years.
Jewell was preceded in passing by her parents Fred and Ida Belfield; son-in-law, Gary Reed; four brothers: Preston, Howard, Talmadge, and Robert Belfield; six sisters: Esther Crump, Irene Callahan, Zelda Stafford, Alberta Jinkerson, Goldie Belfield, and Beulah Lefler; great grandson, Peyton Robert Thomlinson; and many other dear relatives.
Those who remain to treasure her memory include her five children: Robert Jr. and Marlene Brown, Rhonda Reed, Paula Brown Ilcken, Peggy and Scott Krenzke, Melissa “Liz” and Tom Huff; nine grandchildren: Melissa and Neil Sine, Heather and Ron McCaughan, Chris Bowen, Jessica and Scott DeWitt, Gary Reed II and Tracy, Chrystal Ilcken, Ricky and Summer Ilcken, Kathryne Krenzke, and Brandon and Ashley Thomlinson; and 17 great grandchildren. Jewell also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Lurie Belfield; close niece, Phyllis and Charlie Kennedy; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 18th, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM at DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Sunday, March 19th from 11 AM until 2 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 19th, 2023 at 2 PM held at the DeClue Chapel with Pastor Jim Ainley officiating, assisted by Elder Leonard Compton. Musical Selections will be: “Go Rest High” and “It is well with my soul”. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
