Jessie "Lorene" Marler

September 28, 1925 — October 21, 2022

Jessie "Lorene" Marler was born September 28 1925 in Shirley, Missouri, a daughter of the late Edgar Lahmann and Alice Lahmann. Lorene went to her heavenly home on Friday, October 21, 2022, having reached the age of ninety-seven.

On January 8, 1950, Lorene was united in marriage to Hubert Marler, and four daughters and one son was born to this union Lorene attended Grassy Hollow Baptist Church of Shirley, Missouri She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Some of her favorite things to do was to quilt, crochet, crossword and word search puzzles watching the Cardinal Baseball games or the Waltons, but most of all spending time with her family. Her biggest accomplishments was teaching everyone about Jesus and loving her kids, grand kids, and anyone she met. Lorene was described as a sweet lady who loved the Lord. Her memory will forever live on in all the hearts of those she touched.

Those who remain to mourn her include her three daughters: Anna Dunham (husband, Jeff), Alice Adams (husband, Brad) Patti Pyatt (husband, John); daughter-in-law, Dixie Marler; eleven grandchildren: Chad Breakfield, Tim Breakfield, Jason Marler, Jessica Skinner Marler, Jamie Adams, Elizabeth Adams Desmond, Tiffany Evans, Trevor Evans, Tory Evans, Dylan Pyatt, and Desirae Pyatt; twelve great grandchildren: Emma Adams, Collin, Draven, and Piper Marler, Emerson, Owen, and Winston Breakfield, Aiden Desmond, Logan and Libby Counter, Porcius and Cassius Schanda. Lorene also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws.

In addition to her father and mother, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband Hubert; daughter, Beverly; son, David Marler; two grandsons: Wally Adams, Daniel Evans; great grandson, Troy Skinner; siblings: George, Virgil, Earl, Russell, Leo and Judy Lahmann.

Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm at DeClue Funeral Home, 301 E High St, Potosi, MO 63664.

Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10 am to 11 am, at Grassy Hollow Baptist Church in Potosi. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 am, officiated by Bro. Gary Golden, assisted by Bryce Wilson.

Interment will be held at the Grassy Hollow Baptist Church Cemetery in Potosi.

DeClue Funeral Home was honored to have served and ministered to the family of Ms. Lorene Marler.
