Jessie Jarvis

Jessie Nina Jarvis of Belgrade, Missouri, departed this life on October 26, 2007, at the St. Johns Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis. She was born on March 1, 1931 at Belgrade, Missouri, a daughter of the late James Pete Dennis and Eva Mahala (Akers) Dennis.

Jessie was united in marriage to Stanley Herman Jarvis on July 5, 1953 at Belgrade, Missouri and one daughter was born to this union. She was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years, working at the Park Hills Post Office and her husband, Stanley?s assistant at the Belgrade Post Office. She retired in 1989. She enjoyed Cardinal Baseball and attending local high school and college basketball games. Jessie was looking forward to the birth of her twin great-grandsons. She was a loving wife and grandmother, a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Art Terrell; brothers, Norman, Lonnie, Earl, Homer, Alvin and John Dennis.; sisters-in-law, Bernell Dennis and Jeanne Dennis; nieces, Norma Perrin, Kathy Censky and Kevin Jill Maxwell.

Those who remain to mourn her passing include her husband, Stanley Jarvis of Belgrade; a daughter, Rhonda Darcell and husband Ed Doughty of Farmington; three sisters, Ila Gollaher and husband, Edward of Indianapolis, Vivian Censky and husband, Eddie of St. Louis, Bertha Lou Akers and husband, Lindell of Belgrade; two granddaughters, Brandi Rachelle Jarvis and friend Jason Demby and Katlin Erin Doughty; sister-in-law, Phyllis McGuire and husband, George of Farmington; brother-in-law, Donald Jarvis and wife, Wilma of Belgrade, nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 AM on Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Donald Jarvis officiating. Serving as pallbearers were

Interment and final prayers were held at the Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Belgrade, with all arrangements being entrusted in the care of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Liberty Baptist Cemetery.
