Jerry Robert Vaul, of Stoney Point, Missouri, was born on July 27, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Connor Vaul and the late Mabel Vaul Cox. On December 22, 2007, Jerry was united in marriage to Sandra Kay Crump and they shared over eleven years together. Jerry passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of seventy-one years, nine months and twenty-one days.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Vaul; eight step children: Yvonne Bell, Bruce (Judy) Crump, Michael Crump, Crystal Crump, Tamera (Dennis) Auten, Chelsea (Jerry) Bingham, Shawn (Tina) Crump and Christopher (Ashley) Crump; nineteen step grandchildren: Lauren Board, Matthew Bell, Natasha Crump, Cody Crump, Ethan Crump, Calab Crump, Maryelena Underwood, Cheyenne Crump, Malachi Crump, Sikeston Bingham, Alisha Bingham, Colton Bingham, Helena Crump, Shawn Anthony Crump, Alyssa Crump, Carly Crump, Levi Crump, Bailey Crump and Sophie Crump; twelve great grandchildren: Abby, Jacob, Gage, Emma, Kaden, Hunter, Laurabelle, Bradlee, Selena, Eliza, Azlyn and Braxton; one sister, Linda (Ralph) Carylon; special friend, Melissa Smith; also surviving are nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his step father, Herb Cox; two sisters: Rosalee (Vaul) Pritchett and Virginia Vaul; special friend, Roger Brewer.
Jerry did two hitches in the U.S. Army. His main duty was operating heavy equipment. He also drove an 18 wheeler all over the United States. He loved to stay busy and was great at working with his hands. Jerry was excellent at painting cars and auto body work. One would never find a better carpenter. Jerry could build anything. His favorite hobby was fishing. He loved country and gospel music and enjoyed watching black and white movies especially westerns. Jerry could tell the best stories and they will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 4:30-9:00 PM and Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, at 11:00 AM held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Francois County Memorial Park.
