Jerry Eckhoff

Jerry Learoy Eckhoff of Mineral Point, Missouri departed this life on May 30, 2012 at his residence having reached the age of sixty five years, four months and thirty days. He was born on December 31, 1946 in Cadet, Missouri a son to the late John Eckhoff and Mandy (Emily) Eckhoff.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by five brothers Clifford Eckhoff, Howard Eckhoff, Elmer "Mutt" Eckhoff, Jackie Eckhoff, Earl Eckhoff; two sisters Ruthie Emily, Betty Lewis; two brothers in law Gene Skaggs, Silas Williams and sister in law Betty Ann Eckhoff.

On March 28, 1970, Jerry was united in marriage to Kathryn Skaggs and they shared forty two years together.

Jerry served in the United States Army from 1966-1968.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Kathryn Eckhoff of Mineral Point; daughter Heather Eckhoff and friend Mike Doty of Mineral Point; sister Martha Williams of Mineral Point; granddaughter Lacey Boyer and friend Anthony Drennen of Mineral Point; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Full Military Honors were provided by The United States Army and Local VFW Post 6996. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Eckhoff, Kenny Eckhoff, Snoopy Eckhoff, Mike Miller, Eric Skaggs and Brian Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Eckhoff and Rick McCubbins.

Interment and final prayers were held at Calvary Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
