Jeffrey Courtaway

Jeffrey Andrew Courtaway of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on October 22, 2011 at his residence having reached the age of forty two years, six months and fourteen days. He was born on April 8, 1969 a son to Arthur Courtaway and Sharon (Wren) Courtaway.

Jeffrey served in the United States Army Reserve. While in the reserve he worked on the Black Hawk helicopters.

Jeffrey was a musician. He earned his AA in music science at Jefferson College in Hillsboro. He played the piano, keyboard and guitar like none other. He worked for MCI/World Com., Savvis Communication as an IT, installing T1 systems.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandparents Rev. Joseph A. Courtaway and Luly M. (Courtoise) Courtaway; grandfather Rev. Arty E. Wren; great grandparents Rev. Andrew R. Hayes and Ethel V. Hayes.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his parents Arthur and Sharon Courtaway of Potosi; three sons Jonathan Andrew Courtaway of Park Hills; Joseph Aaron Courtaway of Potosi; Christopher Arthur Courtaway of Farmington; grandmother Mary E. Wren of Potosi; one brother Gregory E. Courtaway of Eldon, Missouri; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 1 PM at DeClue Chapel with Rev. Joe Church, Rev. Johnny Wren and Rev. Rex Deckard officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jonathan Courtaway, Joseph Courtaway, Christopher Courtaway, Charles Miller, Michael Miller and Lynn Elliott. Honorary pallbearer Gregory Courtaway.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
