Janis Elizabeth Tarrants

Janis Elizabeth Tarrants, born on August 20, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at the age of 83. She was the cherished daughter of the late Bennett J. Netzer and the late Anne B. (Mercer) Netzer.

Janis found joy in many pastimes, particularly her love for bingo, which she pursued with enthusiasm. She and her husband, Ronnie, enjoyed their time at casino boats. Family camping trips to Meramec Caverns and various local state parks were also a significant part of her life. Additionally, Janis enjoyed hunting and fishing in years past.

Janis is survived by six children: Donald Smith, Jr. and his wife Donna; Teresa Gonzalez; Mark Smith; Anne Dihlmann and her husband Ed; Cindy Crossin and her husband Gary; and Diana Coats and her husband Joe. She is also remembered by her sister, Nancy Frenzel, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronnie and her two siblings, Clinton (Carol) Carr and Ruth Ann Carr, as well as her brother-in-law, Karl Frenzel.

Visitation will be held at DeClue Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of her funeral service at 1 PM with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
