Janelle Ferrell

Janelle Nicole Ferrell of Middle Brook, Missouri, was born on August 28, 1985 in St Louis, Missouri, a daughter of Mary (Ferrell) Smith and the late Michael Smith Sr. Janelle passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, having reached the age of 38.

Those who remain to cherish her memory include her mother, Mary Smith; siblings: Donna Anglin (husband, Zachary), Michelle Daubendiek (husband, Jason), Michael Smith Jr; nieces and nephews: Logan, Lillie, Lucas, Emily, Olivia, Zachary Jr, and JT. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, dear friends and extended family.

Janelle was preceded in death by her father, Michael Smith Sr; grandmothers, Betty Jean Smith and Helen Gilliam; aunts: Margaret Kemper, Brenda Smith; uncles: Wayne Smith and Danny Smith.

Janelle loved her dogs, and was a very loving person—she would give you the shirt off of her back. She loved traveling and spending time with her mom—she was her best friend, and also spending time with family and friends. She was an avid movie watcher and went to the movies with her mom often. She loved junk food, especially pizza and McDonalds, but also enjoyed trying new foods. Janelle enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, and always looked forward to seeing them. She always made sure that she bought them Christmas presents every year—she had a huge heart for them. She is going to be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., held at DeClue Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 6:30 p.m, officiated by Pastor Matt Sheckles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to DeClue Funeral Home in care of her service.
