James ?Otto? Parson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on June 22, 2006 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of 86 years, 5 months and 5 days. He was born on January 17, 1920 at Zion, Missouri, a son of James Joshua Parson and Sarah Caroline (Berry) Parson.
On September 18, 1939 he married Ruby Lorene Wilkerson at Farmington, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2003. In addition to his parents and wife, Otto was preceded in death by an infant son.
Otto was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church of Potosi. He wasn?t just a member, he was Sunday School Superintendent, Song Leader, Deacon, and Teacher. He loved his Church and doing God?s work. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his son, Darrell Shearin and wife Gail of Cadet; his grandson Luke Shearin; granddaughter Cassandra Shearin; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church of Potosi with Rev. Curtis (Bill) Warren officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Don Mc Courtney, Frank Trokey, Jess Kennedy, Jim Rauls, Billy Parson and Jim Rauls Jr.
Interment and final prayers were held at Palmer Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
