Jackie Skaggs

March 7, 1942 — January 31, 2010

Jackie Dale Skaggs of Kirkwood formerly Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 31, 2010 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center having reached the age of sixty seven years, ten months and twenty four days. He was born on March 7, 1942 at Potosi, Missouri a son to the late Glen Skaggs and Sarah ?Cindy? (Trokey) Skaggs.

Jack was a successful businessman, politician and a loyal democrat.

Jack was a devoted son, loving father, caring husband and very, very proud grandfather. He had passion. He was a Christian and had an unrelenting spirit for living and being with people. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, country music, cardinals baseball and a good meal.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are a son Clayton Skaggs and wife Nancy of Kirkwood; granddaughter Madeleine Skaggs of Kirkwood; grandson Peter Ray of Owensville; brother Bill Skaggs and wife Elaine of Potosi; three sisters Delores Anderson and husband Being of Idaho; Patsy McAtee and husband Frank of Kirkwood; Phyllis Fischer and husband Wayne of Stover, Missouri; first wife Barbara Jenkins of St. Louis, MO; two step sons Jerry Golden of Potosi; Danny Golden of Potosi; four step grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 11 AM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. George DeClue officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Benson, Jackson Fischer, Wayne Fischer, Gary Griggs, Harry Anderson and Steve Skaggs.

Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
