Irene Holschen of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on March 13, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of one hundred five years, nine months and five days. She was born on June 8, 1907 in Paragould, Arkansas a daughter to the late Charles Wesley Salmon and Maryann Elizabeth (Collins) Salmon.
Irene was a member of the Potosi First Assembly of God, Potosi. She was a former member of the Trinity Tabernacle of St. Louis County.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are two sons Ed Holschen of St. Louis; David Holschen and wife Deborah of Potosi; seven grandchildren Bill Holschen and wife Mary, Lisa Haas and husband Chuck, Kurt Holschen, Kelly Gliedt and husband Steve, Fair Holschen and husband Eric Earls, Justin Miller and wife Ericka, Jesse Miller; many great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband Fred D. Holschen; two sons Richard Lee Wright, Michael Kopfer; four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1 PM at the Alexander Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Petty officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Justin Miller, Jesse Miller, Philip Haas, Jacob Holschen, Dr. Gary Greenlee and Bill Holschen.
Interment and final prayers were held at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, St. Ann, Missouri. Following the committal service a luncheon was provided by the Cross Keys Baptist Church. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
