Ione Yarbrough

Ione Mamie (Nickelson) Yarbrough of Potosi, Missouri died December 2, 2008 at Potosi Manor Nursing Home, having reached the age of ninety two years, seven months and four days. She was born on April 28, 1916 in Richwoods, Missouri, a daughter of the late Andrew Nickelson and Florence Nickelson.

On September 2, 1936, Ione married Arthur Yarbrough. They celebrated 40 years together before his death on March 10, 1976. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters Polly Wood and Shelia Faye Yarbrough; brothers Joseph Nickelson, Clyde Nickelson, Richard Nickelson, Evrette Nickelson, Lester Nickelson, Carl Nickelson, Cletus Nickelson, James Nickelson; sisters Blanch Nickelson, Flora Nickelson.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life includes daughter Jacqueline Freymuth and husband Bill of Potosi; son Rodney Yarbrough and wife Joy of Potosi; son in law Ron Wood of Potosi; two brothers Hardy Nickelson and Robert Nickelson; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 11 AM at the Britton Chapel of Potosi with Rev. Rick Mosher officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Fryman, Don Johnston, Todd Torwegge, Billy Freymuth, Gregg Mueller, Bill Reifsteck. Honorary pallbearer was Brian Yarbrough.
Interment and final prayers were held at the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
