Ida Wideman

February 18, 1932 — February 13, 2017

Ida Dean Wideman of Potosi, Missouri was born on February 18, 1932 in Beach Grove, Arkansas a daughter to the late Elmer Myrick and the late Mary (Harvel) Myrick. Ida entered eternal rest on Monday, February 13, 2017 at her home having reached the age of eighty-four years, eleven months and twenty-six days.

Ida will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her daughter Pam Allen and husband Roger of Caledonia; two brothers: Tommy Myrick and wife Pat of Beach Grove, AR.; Larry Myrick of Delaplaine, AR.; sister Janie Vines and husband Ronnie of Evening Star, AR.; five grandchildren: Lance DeClue and wife Jaimie of Berryman; Sara Lawson and husband Clint of Caledonia; Katiya Pride and husband Thomas of Desloge; Brad Mollett of Lapeer, MI. and Jeremy Allen of Park Hills; eleven great grandchildren: Caleb, Dylan, Dakota, Leala, Maddie, Hannah, JayCee, Chloe, Lilly, Thomas and Tucker; special friend Delores Owens of Potosi; also surviving are nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by one great granddaughter Lara Pride; three sisters: Thelma Jean Norman, Virginia Anderson and Janice Cross.

Ida was full of energy and love. She was at her happiest when she could be of help to someone. The first words out of her mouth were always “what can I do?” She loved working in her yard and her home was her pride and joy.

Always willing to keep any of her “kids” as she referred to them, She was an inspirational force raising her grandchildren and then went on to be the best “Magraw” to all of her great grandchildren. When they were not around she took on the neighborhood children. An endless supply of cookies were to be had at “Ms. Ida’s” and everyone knew it.

She worked 36 years at Brown Shoe Factory then at Trimfoot Factory and experienced the closing of both plants. Her work family was vast, and she treasured each and every one of them.

She worshipped her church and church family at Pine Valley Full Gospel Church. She helped build it, and was the first to be there on every occasion when the doors were open. Gospel music was her passion, and her deep alto voice will surely be missed in the choir here on earth, but she is rejoicing now with her Angel Wings on high as she was always “Ready to Go!”
