Hubert Harrison LaChance of Bismarck, Missouri, formerly of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, was born on June 16, 1930 in Mineral Point, Missouri, a son to the late Joseph LaChance and the late Ethel (Anderson) LaChance. Hubert entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 12, 2016 having reached the age of eighty six years, four months and twenty seven days.
On December 29, 1951 Hubert was united in marriage to Edna Bowen and they shared sixty four years together.
Hubert is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Edna LaChance of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois; four children: Peggy Jones of Bismarck, Missouri; Steve LaChance and wife Barb of Bismarck; Dennis LaChance and wife Kim of Prairie du Rocher and Judy Sumpter and husband Jeff of Bismarck; two brothers Harvey and Kenny; two sisters Ruth Ann and Rachel; six grandchildren: Cory LaChance and wife Bethany, Mike Sumpter and wife Lisa, Amber Rust and husband Tyler, Jackie Jones, Stephanie LaChance and Jimmy LaChance; seven great grandchildren: Peyton, Paxton, Jalynn, Nolan, Lily, Kason and Annabelle; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his father and mother, Hubert was preceded in death by his beloved son Michael LaChance; seven sibling: Maggie, Roy, Freddy, Glenwood, Walter, Betty and Sunday.
Hubert bravely served in the United States Army from October 24, 1951 until October 8, 1953. During his time of service he received the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, Overseas Bar, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and the National Defense Service Medal.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Mo. 63664.
A Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the New Diggins Cemetery where he will receive full military honors by the United States Army and the local VFW Post 6996. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the funeral arrangements of Hubert during this time of remembrance.
