Herman Lee Politte of Cadet, Missouri was born on January 7, 1945 in Cadet, Missouri, a son to the late Francis Politte and the late Dorothy (Rulo) Politte. Herman went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 79.
Those who remain to treasure his memory include his four children: Crystal (Danny) Wilson, Angie (Cecil) Gilmore, Keith (Tracy) Politte, and Mike Politte; ten grandchildren: Katlyn, Logan, and Emma Wilson, Cecil Gilmore Jr. and Heather Politte, Landon, Kaden, Jace, Dylan and Dalton Politte; sisters: Clara Pennington and Annie (David) Fenstermaker; brothers-in-law: Dave Buckley and Dale Welker; and Herman’s dear cat, Crowley.
In addition to Herman’s father and mother, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnn Politte; seven siblings: Larry Politte, Gary Politte, Judy and Chuck Boyer, Mary Skaggs, Leoma Huskey, Virgie Massie Welker, and Clarice Buckley; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank Richards and Emma Richards; and many other dear in laws and relatives.
On May 22, 1965, Herman married the love of his life, JoAnn Marie Richards in Cadet and they shared 45 years of life and love together. Herman was a hard-working man. His work ethic began at a young age. Herman worked for many years at AMAX Mines until they closed. He then went to work for Reed’s Sawmill and later worked for Global Security. In his leisure time, Herman enjoyed riding his lawn mower and keeping his yard manicured, watching westerns, Andy Griffith, RFDTV, and listening to Polka music. Above all, Herman was a family man. He always put his family first and loved his children and grandchildren very much. Some of his favorite times were going on hunting adventures with his dear friend, Johnny Emily and visits with his nephew, Troy. Herman will be remembered for his kind heart, his great sense of humor and his smile.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at DeClue Funeral Home from 11 AM until the time of his Funeral at 2 PM. Pastor Michael Barton will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi. Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of DeClue Funeral Home.
