Herbert Eugene Politte of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on February 11, 2008 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Home, having reached the age of sixty four years, one month and twenty-five days. He was born at DeSoto, Missouri on December 17, 1943, a son of the late Clarence ?Shorty? Politte and Aleen Frances (Dodson) Politte.
Eugene was united in marriage to Janet Nixon on February 18, 1963 at Hopewell, Missouri, and three children were born to this union. They were just one week short of sharing forty-five years of marriage together. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather; a dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was a member of the Hopewell Church of God. He loved his Church and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Geneva Whaley; and a sister-in-law, Rita Politte.
Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his wife, Janet Politte of Potosi; two daughters, Rhonda Brawley and husband, Carl of Potosi, Billie Bourbon and husband, Mitch of Potosi; a son, Kenneth Politte and wife, Ashley of Potosi; four sisters, Gloria Sancegraw and husband, Francis of Potosi, Patsy Skiles and husband, Chuck of Hopewell, Betty Nixon and husband Mike, of Hopewell, Nanette Litherland and husband Jerry of Hopewell; two brothers, Edward Politte and wife, Crystal of Liberty, Michael Politte and friend, Suzanne of Hopewell; four grandchildren, Lucas Brawley and wife, Alisa, Micki Glore and husband, Ray, Jr., Casey Bourbon, Kairi Politte; three great grandchildren, Devon Brawley, Gabriel Brawley, Lillyan Glore; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 2 PM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Jim Wade and Rev. Keith King officiating. Serving as pallbearers were
Interment and final prayers were held at Hopewell Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
