Henry Walls

Henry "Jack" Meritt Walls of Potosi, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of ninety years, five months, and seventeen days. Jack was born on April 20, 1924 in Ebo, Missouri a son to the late Henry Walls and Bertha (Pashia) Walls.

Jack was united in marriage to his first wife Marie (Nixon) Walls on January 31, 1943 in Potosi, Missouri. After Marie's passing on January 9, 1996, he later married Barbara (Osburn-Britton) on June 30, 2002 in Potosi, Missouri.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Barbara Walls of Potosi, Missouri; his son Edward Wayne Walls, Sr. and wife Rose of Potosi, Missouri; his daughter Diana Engler of Hopewell, Missouri; his step-son Ron Britton and wife Myra of Potosi, Missouri; three grandchildren: Edward Wayne Walls, Jr. and wife Sharon, Sherry Becker and husband Jimmy, and Brittany Barton; six step-grandchildren: Erica Peddi and husband Emmanuel, Justin Dayton, Ann Erusha and husband Rob, Richard Villmer and wife Theresa, Rose Viau and husband John, and Jessica Gwyn and husband David; seven great-grandchildren: Gavin, Kayde, Abbi, Jessica, Damion, Elizabeth, and Joey; fourteen step-great grandchildren Elizabeth, Jaelyn, Mason, Ethan, Kristin, Addison, Cole, Webb, Elsie, Warner, Clara, Sadler, Elijah, and Thaddeus; one great-great grandson Bryson; and many more relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and his first wife, Jack is preceded in death by his grandchild Kevin Dwayne Engler; sister Dora Ellen; his half-brother Clarence Johnson; his half-sister Bertha M. Johnson.

Funeral services for Jack were conducted on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the DeClue Family Memorial Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating assisted by Bro. Jim Ainley. Honoring Jack by serving as his pallbearers were Wayne Walls, Sr., Wayne Walls, Jr., Gavin Walls, Emmanuel Peddi, Justin Dayton, and Rolla Griggs.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Hopewell Cemetery with Full Military Honors presented by the United States Army and VFW Post 6996.
Funeral arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
