Henry Aleshire-Harvey

Henry Gene Aleshire-Harvey known to many as Gene, of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on November 13, 2010 at his residence having reached the age of fifty two years, one month and twenty days. He was born on September 24, 1958 at Lebanon, Missouri.

Gene was a man filled with the spirit of God. He was very strong in his faith and knew Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He read his Bible religiously and shared the Lord’s word with many.

As a young man Gene had a passion for speed and horse-power. He loved motorcycles and the feeling of racing through the air. He would glow with happiness when he would hear the rumbling under the hood of a race car. Over time Gene gracefully grew older spent many hours fishing and being one with the outdoors.

One of his greatest pleasures in life was to help mankind. Gene never met a stranger and after meeting you once you were his friend. He was available to his friends during their times of need. He was so uplifting and refreshing to be around because he enjoyed making people laugh and smile. He was filled with kindness, love, and joy. Gene was very loyal if he gave you his word it was his bond. His memory will be etched in the hearts of his many friends and family.

Gene was preceded in death by two brothers Ricki Kline, Mark Kline; grandparents Foster and Dorothy Allison.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his parents Marvin and Freeda Harvey of Potosi; sister Donna Ziegler and husband Fred of Cuba; brother Jim Harvey and wife Debbie of Potosi; two nieces Nickie Light and husband Bradley of Potosi, Shannon Bonney and husband Jimmy of Cuba; five nephews Freddie Ziegler and wife Sherri of Cuba, Kevin Ziegler of Cuba, Donald Kline of Mineral Point, John Kline of Mineral Point, Aaron Harvey and wife Karen of Terre Du Lac; two great nieces; two great nephews; sister in law Dela Weir and husband George of Mineral Point; special Friend Dicie Griggs of Potosi; special uncle and aunt Wayne and Betty Brumfield of Connecticut; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 2 PM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Don Strauser officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Freddie Ziegler, Donald Kline, John Kline, Aaron Harvey, Kevin Ziegler and Walt Ziegler.

Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
