Hazel Turner

Hazel Leora Turner of Richwoods, Missouri was born on May 30, 1921, a daughter to the late Edward Vest and the late Mary (Valle) Vest. Hazel entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at her residence having reached the age of ninety-seven years, nine months and three days.

Hazel is survived by her four children: Orville Turner, Linda (husband, Danny) Crews, LeRoy (wife, Josie) Turner, Joan Turner; five grandchildren: Terri (husband, Martin) Thiessen, Tim Lewis and friend Tracy, Tracie (husband, Chris) Short, Michelle (husband, Kurt) Emily, Damaris Turner; eleven great grandchildren: Julie and Dave Humphries, Brian and Amber Schwentker, Amy and Cory Matthews, Cody Lewis, Jack Lewis, Jarrett Lewis, Daniel Holmes, David Holmes, Dalton Short, Ethan and Felicia Emily and Elijah Emily; fourteen great great grandchildren: Matthew, Mason, Ella, Trenton, Trevor, Ezra, Silas, Rylin, Zeke, Leah, Elam, Cora, Miriam, and Selah; two sisters-in-law: Delores Turner and Alice Turner; dear friends Ruth Ann and John Bequette; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will truly miss her.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Turner; daughter, Connie Lynn Turner; grandson, Lee Turner; siblings: Arthur "Ott" Vest, Charles (Myrtle) Vest, Clyde (Carol) Vest, Ethel (Banky) Cardwell, Edna (Grover) Turner, Elsey (Bill) Littrell and Elbie (Bob) Cordia.

She loved the Lord and spent much of her time reading his Word and praying. Other than reading her Bible, her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially all of her grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at DeClue Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation resumed Monday, March 11, 2019, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

A funeral service to honor Hazel began at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019, held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Bro. Perry Vance officiating. Honoring Hazel by serving as here pallbearers were Ethan Emily, Elijah Emily, Brian Schwentker, Dalton Short, Jack Lewis, and Jarrett Lewis. Honorary pallbearers: Daniel and David Holmes. Interment and final prayers were held at Horine Cemetery.
