Hattie Marie Richards was born on November 3, 1941 in Cadet, Missouri, a daughter to the late Edgar Hammond and the late Annie (Sanders) Hammond. On September 27, 1970, Hattie was united in marriage to Terry Richards and they shared thirty-one years together.
Hattie entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of seventy-five years, four months, and twenty days.
Hattie will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her four sons: Randy Nickelson and wife Laurie of Potosi, Terry Richards and Lisa Volner of Mineral Point, Andrew Richards of Old Mines, and Eric Richards and wife Connie of Japan, Missouri; four daughters: Connie Perry of Davisville, Missouri, Sherry Nickelson of Potosi, Lorie Nickelson of Davisville, and Pat Nickelson and Tommy Brunk of Old Mines; brother, Jimmy Hammond of Potosi; sisters: Edith Portell and Linda Politte – both of Old Mines; seventeen grandchildren: Jessica Wright and husband Jason, Lawton Vance and wife Kaddie, Tommy Brunk, Eli Thurmond, Nick Thurmond, Matalie Williams and husband Michael, Richie Nettles, Adam Nickelson, Dillan Berry, Dalton Berry and wife Fay, Brendon Richards, Zariah Richards, Hannah Richards, Krisi Dyer, Austin Dyer and wife Laura, Kaleb Sanders, and Clinton Sanders; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Hattie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry Richards; and two brothers: Charles Hammond and Roger Hammond.
Visitation for Hattie was held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 28 at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, beginning at 10:00 AM with Father Tony Dattilo officiating.
Interment and final prayers were held at Sunset Hill Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by DeClue Funeral Home.
