Gretchen K. Patton of Potosi, Missouri, was born on July 26, 1941, in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Marion Boone. Gretchen passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022, having reached the age of eighty years, six months, and thirty days.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her husband of nearly 29 years, David Patton; children: Lorraine Luehmann, Lisa Puglise, Charlie Luehmann (wife, Laura), Tina Luehmann (fiancé, John Crenshaw), Kurt Luehmann (wife, Joanna); stepchildren: Kelly Howard (fiancé, Tim Skiles), Andrew Patton; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Sydney; sister-in-law, Veronica Tinkler (husband, Tom); and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her mother.
Gretchen worked for several years as a loan officer for Midland States Bank in St Louis before starting her mobile home company, Able Mobile Home Moving and Sales, as she served as owner and President. She was very athletic and enjoyed many sports including bowling, softball, and especially golf. She could swing a golf club! Even though she was left-handed, she golfed with right-handed clubs. She also enjoyed fishing and painting. She seemed to always have a great time in life, especially at the casino. She was a part of what they called the “Golden Girls Group” which members consisted of: Kathy Richards, Doris Coffman, Cindy Merx, and Tammy Portell.
A Visitation for Gretchen will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 10:30 am to 12 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 12 pm with Pastor Gary Greenlee officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to: Big Paws Animal Shelter and Rescue.
