Grace Wilkerson Vaughn

Lola Grace Wilkerson Vaughn was born on July 24, 1933 in Shirley, Missouri a daughter to the late John Eye and the late Sarah Jane (Kathcart) Eye. On December 15, 1951, Grace was united in marriage to William Roy “Bill” Wilkerson and there were four children born to this union. After Bill’s passing, Grace later remarried Robert Vaughn on December 26, 1994

Grace went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the St. Louis University Hospital having reached the age of eighty-four years, two months and twelve days.

Grace will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her four children: W.m. “Bill” Wilkerson and wife Elaine of Glendale, California; Thomas Wilkerson and wife Lynn of Imperial, Missouri; James Wilkerson and wife Clara of Cary, North Carolina; Beth Wehmeyer and husband Michael of Niceville, Florida; seven grandchildren: Michael Wilkerson and wife Jennifer, Elliott Wilkerson and wife Lianna, Aaron Wilkerson, John Wilkerson, Kristina Wehmeyer, Ryan Wehmeyer, Eric Wehmeyer; two great grandchildren: Reynold Isaac and Camille Victoria; three brothers: Sammy Eye and wife Sara, Wendell Eye and wife Janice, Michael Eye; brother-in-law: Jack Wilkerson and wife Juanita; also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

In addition to her father and mother, Grace was preceded in death by her first husband, William Roy Wilkerson; second husband, Robert Vaughn; brothers: Sloman Eye and wife Ethel, Oval Eye and wife Opal “Blacky”, Elzie Eye, Donald Eye and wife Violet; sisters: Doris Fenstermaker and husband George, Lelia Kendall and husband Harry, Mildred Reed and husband Melvin, Norma Jane Wilkerson; sisters-in-law: Darlene Eye and Bonnie Eye.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, October 9, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m.

Visitation will resume on Tuesday, October 10, from 9-10 a.m. at the Potosi First Baptist Church, 10479 State Highway P, Potosi, Missouri 63664. A Funeral Service will follow beginning at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jim Ainley officiating.

Interment and final prayers will be held in the White Oak Grove Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted into the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
