Golda Shipp

Golda Shipp of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at her residence, having reached the age of eighty-eight years, eleven months and three days. She was born on January 24, 1919 at Redmondville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Othelo Ralph Baker and Jennie Rose (White) Baker.

She was united in marriage to William Shipp on December 30, 1938 and they shared sixty-nine years of marriage together. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Lou Shipp, a son, Billy Shipp, three brothers, Eddie Baker, Carl Baker and Raymond Baker; and a step-father, Roy Imboden.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her husband, William Shipp of Belgrade; her son, Jack Shipp and wife Myra of Belgrade; her daughter, Sue Jarvis and husband Jesse of Belgrade; two sisters, Rose Parker of Dover, Tennessee, Martha Govro of Maryland Heights; a sister-in-law, Evelyn (Baker) McKennon, North Carolina; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

Visitation 3 to 8PM, Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi and 11AM To 1PM at the Belgrade United Methodist Church. Funeral Service 1PM Monday at the Belgrade United Methodist Church. Interment in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
