Glenda Kay (Portell) Harmon of Potosi, Missouri passed away on August 3, 2015 at her residence having reached the age of sixty seven years, four months, and four days. She was born on March 30, 1948 a daughter to the late Floyd and Myrtle (Whitter) Portell.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her two sons: Troy Harmon and wife Karrie of Mineral Point; Scott Harmon of Potosi; three brothers: Lynn Portell and wife JoAnn of Cadet, Danny Portell of Old Mines, and Gary Portell and wife Janet of Ste. Genevieve; four sisters: Bonnie Gibson of Cadet, Nona Thebeau and husband Rev. Lynn of Potosi, Peggy Turnbough and husband Rev. Mark of Potosi, and Debbie Holt of Potosi; six grandchildren: David Boyet, Amy Dicus and husband Kyle, T.J. Harmon, Anna Jones, George Jones, and Randy Jones; seven great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Boyet, Clifton Dicus, D.J. Boyet, Gage Boyet, Hattie Dicus, Shelby Dicus, and Weston Dicus; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Harmon; two daughters Melissa Kay Harmon and Kathy Jo Harmon; granddaughter Angel Boyet; and two great grand-babies: Alexis Boyet and Konnor Boyet.
Kay enjoyed many things in life. She loved to cook and sew and enjoyed family gatherings. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. Kay loved her family most of all and hers dogs. Kay would do anything to help someone out. She was one of the kindest, loving and most caring people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Glenda were held on Friday evening, August 7, 2015 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and also on Saturday morning, August 8, 2015 at the Great Hope Fellowship Church from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
Funeral services began at 11:00 AM at the Great Hope Fellowship Church with Rev. Lynn Thebeau officiating.
Honoring Glenda by serving as her pallbearers will be T.J. Harmon, George Jones, Randy Jones, Derek Boyet, and Kyle Dicus. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Cliffton Dicus, David Boyet, Jr., and Gage Boyet.
Internment and final prayers took place at the Grassy Hollow Cemetery on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 4:00 PM.
