Glena Brown

June 26, 1919 — June 7, 2006

Glena L. Dixon Brown of Farmington, Missouri departed this life on June 7, 2006 at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, having reached the age of 86 years, 10 months and 12 days. She was born at Goodwater, Missouri on July 26, 1919, a daughter of Jesse Jarvis and Essie (Vineyard) Jarvis.

Glena was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved being surrounded by her family.

In addition to her parents, Glena was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl W. Dixon and her second husband, Rev. Bert Brown; a son, Jerry Lee Dixon; a daughter, Freda Dixon; her twin sister Lena Huff Miller; a sister, Verda Brand; and five brothers, Eldridge Jarvis, Harold Jarvis, Dee Jarvis, Curtis Jarvis and Russell Jarvis.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her two sons, William Dixon and wife Wanda of St. Charles, Gary Dixon and wife Barbara of Bracketville, TX; her two daughters Patricia Sorrow and husband Tom of Farmington, Donna DeShaney and friend Jay Bauer of Desoto; her brother Cecil Jarvis and wife Rosemary of Mineral Point; her sister Ruth Jackson and husband Earl of IL; seventeen grandchildren; thirty four great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Leonard Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dean Dixon, Bill Dixon, Shane, Marchant, Don DeShaney, Alex Dixon and Rob LaMar.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Adams Cemetery, Frankclay, Missouri. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
