Gladys Evelyn Wilson of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on December 3, 2011 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of seventy seven years, one month and twenty six days. She was born on October 7, 1934 at Farmington, Missouri a daughter to the late Hubert Coble and Mary (Johnson) Coble.
On March 17, 1990, Gladys was united in marriage to John Wilson and they shared twenty one years together.
Gladys was a member of the Potosi First Baptist Church; past member of Sayers Senior Center and past member of Red Hat Ladies Society of Florida.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband John Lee; step son Michael Wilson; two sisters Louise Harsy; Virginia "Ginny" Welch; two brothers in law Raymond Harsy and Roy Williams.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband John Wilson of Potosi; son John Lee of Potosi; daughter Dawn (Don) Eaton of Farmington; step daughters Sherry (Mike) Rowden; Sally (Stan) Elrod; step daughter in law Nancy Wilson; three brothers Clifford (Patricia) Coble of Morris Mills; Everett (Kaffee) Coble of Park Hills; Steve (Mary) Coble of Union; three sisters Maxine Williams of Florissant; Carol (Lonnie) Hill of Pevely; Judy (Gervis) Eye of Potosi; brother in law Bob Welch of Ohio; seven grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 11 AM at the DeClue Chapel with Rev. Jamie Haguewood and Bro. Jeff Richards officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Don Eaton, Mike Rowden, Stan Elrod, Tim Elrod, Colin Eaton and Jim Halbrook.
Interment and final prayers were held at the Redbud Memorial Gardens. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
