Gladys Martin

Gladys Bernice Martin of Bonne Terre, Missouri was born on January 22, 1944, a daughter to the late Charles Chester Hunter and the late Clara Emma (Favier) Hunter. Gladys entered eternal rest on August 30, 2019 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached seventy-five years of age.

Gladys was a stay at home mom that enjoyed cooking for everyone and baking with the grandchildren. She spent many weekends yard selling and going to auctions. Gladys loved showing her crafty side through embroidery, quilting and gardening. There is no doubt that her laugh and her smile will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Joseph Martin, Sr.; son-in-law, LeRoy Weatherwax; and six siblings: Clara Marie O’Farrell, Alvin George Hunter, Ruby “Dottie” Hunter, Edith Alberta Masters, Eugene L. Hunter, and Marvis R. Hunter.

Gladys will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her children: Paul King, Raymond (Bobby) King, Edward Martin, Jr., Christina (Joey) Reed, Bobby Martin, Kim (Randy) Mazzola, Kelly (Don) Cate, Michelle Martin, and Susie Brewer; three brothers: Harlen (Dinky) Hunter, Rick (Sandy) Hunter, and Ronald “Ronnie” Hunter; two sisters: Della Mae Hunter and Shirley Hunter; daughter-in-law, Pauline Counts; grandchildren: Michael, Brylee, Blake, Tiffany, Jessica, Jeffrey, Aaliyah, Emma, Abi, Jake, Kim, Nick, Tyler, Bobbi Jo, Luke, Crystal, Dustin, Bobby, Roger, Bradley, Jeffrey, Jamie and Freddy; great-grandchildren: Luke Lashley, Alice Hammock, Dillon Hammock, Jr., Caroline Risley, Lucas King, Charlotte King, Mackenzie Nausley, Haili King, Courtney Jo King, Bobby King, Mia Jo Reed, Miles Allen and Kieryn Allen; close friend, Roxanne; and also many more dear great grandchildren.

A graveside service for Gladys will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 1:00 PM, held at Bonne Terre Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been cared for by DeClue Funeral Home.
