Gladys Eye

Gladys Viola Eye of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on May 3, 2006 at her residence, having reached the age of 77 years, 2 months and 24 days. She was born on February 9, 1929 in Potosi, Missouri, a daughter of the late Irving H. Griggs and Myrtle R. (McGuire) Griggs.

Gladys was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church of Potosi. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Nichols and a brother, William Henry Griggs.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her two daughters, Twila Jarvis and husband Steve of Mineral Point, and Regina Schlueter and husband Kenneth of Ferguson; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10 AM at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Tim Thebeau and Mr. Carl Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Darren Schlueter, Buckey Draper, Tim Jarvis, Jimmy Farris, Donald Britton and Rick Volner.

Interment and final prayers were held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
