Geraldine Farris

February 12, 1935 — April 5, 2009

Geraldine Farris of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on April 5, 2009 at her residence having reached the age of seventy four years, one month and twenty four days. She was born on February 12, 1935 at Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter to the late Lewis Pashea and Elizabeth Beyatte Pashea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Junior Everett Farris; four brothers Lonnie Pashia, Raymond Pashia, Albert Pashia, Donald Pashia; four sisters Alene Farris, Omie Clemmons, Edna Ray and Virginia Pashia.

Geraldine loved Jesus, Church, her husband, her two sons and her grandchildren dearly. She attended the church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith in Cadet, Missouri. She was close to her church family and loved all of her brothers and sisters in the Lord. When she wasn?t in church, she enjoyed helping other people. She spent several years volunteering in local food pantries. She worked in several factories. She liked going to wal-mart with her sister Lorene. We would all say ?There goes Lucy and Ethel headed to town in the Chevy Lumina? (her boys thought she should have had a Ford). She liked her trips to Kentucky Fried Chicken with her niece Mary Lou.
She spoiled her three grandsons Justin, Curt and Bug, completely. They were her baby boys. Then came the granddaughter Kaylee, who she spoiled even worse than the boys. Bug and Kaylee were her ?bed partners?. She didn?t like being along at night, so she liked having one of them with her at night and her watchdog Blackie on the porch. She was married for forty three years to a very loving husband and together they made a good home for their two boys.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are two sons Dennis Farris and wife Theresa of Potosi; Jeff Farris and wife Krystal of Potosi; Brother Lawrence Pashia and wife Faye of Potosi; two sisters Lorene Boyster and husband Robert of Potosi; Rachel Stutters and husband Carl of Festus; four grandchildren Justin Messex, Curtis Messex, Jeffrey Jones and Kaylee Farris; and a close family friend of many years Chris Cusumano whom she thought of as her own son; many other relatives, friends, and church family who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 11 AM at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Marshall Probst and Rev. Johnny Wren officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Farris, Jeff Farris, Chris Cusumano, Justin Messex, Curtis Messex, and Jeff ?Bug? Jones.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
