Georgie, as she was known by family and friends was a unique lady. She loved her family and church more than anything. Nothing thrilled her more than when her grandkids came to see her. She never wanted them to leave. Georgie was the last living charter member of the Grassy Hollow Baptist Church. In her younger years she taught Sunday school and served as the church clerk among many other jobs. She worked at Brown Shoe and Heel Plant, she was a supervisor at the YMCA and had many other jobs in the food service after moving to Columbia. You always knew if you were on Georgie's good side or bad side. She would let you know very quickly if she wasn't happy with you. She worked hard and enjoyed life and her family. Georgie will be dearly missed.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 1 PM at the Grassy Hollow Church with Rev. Bryce Wilson and Rev. Dwight Petete officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Shane Blair, Shannon Blair, Floyd Dickinson, Billy Bodimer, Logan Kesselring and Bob Hollinsworth.
