George Walker

May 26, 1917 — February 16, 2013

George Edwin Walker of Potosi, Missouri passed away on February 16, 2013 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home having reached the age of ninety five. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 26, 1917 a son to the late Cecil John Walker and Nellie Lucille Utz.

George served in the United States Navy. During his service to our county, George was awarded with two Bronze Stars, United Nations Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Fleet Marine Combat Operation Insignia, Third, Fourth and Fifth Awards Good Conduct Medal.

George was a wonderful person. One of George's greatest passions was golfing. He enjoyed many beautiful days playing a couple rounds of golf. He loved fishing, beautiful flowers in the spring time and gardening. George enjoyed life and the beauty of nature.

George is survived by his adopted children Robert Lloyd Puckett and wife Sharon; Nephew David Sharp and wife Brenda of Springfield, IL; a Brother Robert Walker and wife Francis of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Girlfriend Bernice Richardson of Potosi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a later date.

All funeral arrangements were cared for by the DeClue Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
