George Reed

George Daniel Reed of Potosi, Missouri was born on May 14, 1934 at Centerville, Missouri, a son of the late Ott Reed and the late Opal (Miller) Reed. On May 20, 1957, George was united in marriage to Norma Lee King and they shared 53 years together. George passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 surrounded by his family having reached the age of eighty-five years, two months and sixteen days.

George is survived by his step son, Jim Wilkerson and Joyce; four brothers: James (Pat) Reed, Roger (Sue) Reed, Wayne (Jane) Reed, Terry (Charlyn) Reed; four sisters: Ruth Glore, Helen Franklin, Betty (Doyle) Abbey, and Hope (Mike) Jarvis; also surviving are eight grandchildren Jason Wilkerson and fiancé Melissa Maness, Amy (Lowell) Turner, Brian Moore, April (Cory) Winters, Janelle Wilkerson, Julie Wilkerson, Stacy (Jason) Lappe, and Billy Wilkerson; numerous great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his father and mother, George was preceded in death by his beloved wife Norma Lee Reed; daughter, Gracie Marie Reed; step son Gene Wilkerson; sister, Annabelle Reed; one infant sister; two brothers: Elmer Reed and Elder Melvin Reed; two brothers-in-law: Larry Glore and Donald Franklin; two sisters-in-law: Wilma Lee Reed and Mildred Reed.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the DeClue Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Friday, August 2, 2019 from 9-11 AM.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11 AM held in the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Jarvis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Grassy Hollow Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements were respectfully entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
