George Frederick Coy, also known by his family and friends as “G.F.”, was born on June 3, 1971 in Ironton, Missouri, a son to Arthur William “Bud” Coy and Wilma Ruth “Sissy” Coy. G.F. passed away early Tuesday morning, July 5th, 2022 at Washington County Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of 51 years, 1 month and 2 days.
Those left behind to treasure his memory include his loving parents: Bud and Sissy Coy; four siblings: Dennis Laramore, Renee O’Hanlon (husband, John), Allen Mercer (wife, Missy), and Ladonna Kay; a host of very special nieces and nephews whom he loved so much; dear aunts and uncles: Mary Ann Schroer, George and Janet Laramore, Donnie and Jody Laramore, Raymond and Donna Laramore, Erma and Jim Harrelson, Elaine and Mike O’Bryan, Phyllis and Bill Long, Juanita Laramore, June Laramore, and Felicia Freemont. G.F. liked to travel. He also loved a challenge. He worked in several states and held certifications in the fields of cosmetology (instructor and operator) and pharmacy. He was also a gadget man. He loved finding, buying, and sharing the newest gadgets. What everyone knew about G.F. was that he loved his family. There was nothing he would not do for anyone who had a need. Driving the Miss Daisies, babysitting the nieces and nephews or feeding animals in the absence of their owners. He was kind to everyone, never passed judgment and was always willing to lend a hand. He was helpful in so many ways. He always gave people the benefit of the doubt and was truly kind and caring and patient to all. He was the first one to make a joke or make someone laugh and was genuinely fun to be around. He loved get-togethers and parties. To know him was to love him. His interest of late was gardening. He planted Lavender and his tomato crop was ready before July fourth. He truly was a man of many talents and interests.
