Genevieve Dobbs

February 25, 1942 — July 23, 2011

Genevieve Marie Dobbs of Cadet, Missouri departed this life on July 23, 2011 at her residence having reached the age of sixty nine years, four months and twenty eight days. She was born on February 25, 1942 at Desoto, Missouri a daughter to the late Timon Courtway and Alba (Bequette) Courtway.

On August 11, 1991, Billy was united in marriage to Johnny Dobbs.

Billy enjoyed watching television and she loved animals. But most of all she loved her kids, grandkids and family.

In addition to her parents, Billy was preceded in death by a son Johnny Dobbs, Jr., step daughter Barb Gulden, four brothers Clyde Courtway, Bobby Courtway, Homer Courtway, Jerry Courtway, four sisters Beulah Shelton, Betty Evans, Virginia Emily, Janet Courtway; three grandchildren Rhonda Ames, Sydeny Leigh and McKenzie Graham.

Those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband Johnny Dobbs of Cadet; three sons Spanky (Peggy) Courtway of Fredericktown, Billy Dobbs of Cadet, Tommy Dobbs of Cadet; six daughters Jane (Robert) Drennen of Cadet, Paula (Jerry) Young of Potosi, Jeannie (Virgil) Drennen of Cadet, Gidget (Carter) Ratliff of Cadet, Viola (Robert) Ruble of Potosi, Christy (Mike) Farris of Cadet; two brothers Danny (Patty) Courtway of Cadet, Tim (Linda) Courtway of Cadet; three sisters Helen Dobbs of Cadet, Faye (Jesse) Nottingan of Festus, Linda (Larry) Dobbs of Steelville; eight step children Danny Dobbs, Debbie Franklin, Joann Moore, Gina Dobbs, Vivian Berry, Shelly Dobbs, Christina Dobbs, Karen Tatum; daughter in law Stephanie Dobbs; special friend in heart and niece Virginia Bannister; many grandchildren, many great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 1 Pm at the Declue Chapel with Rev. Jim Wade officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Ruble, Virgil Drennen, Robert Drennen, Mike Farris, Curtis Courtway, Brian Courtway, Rocky Dobbs and Brent Dobbs.

Interment and final prayers were held at New Diggins Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
