Gary W. Hedrick (71), was born to Georgia (DeClue) and Earl Hedrick on September 6, 1952, in Potosi, Missouri, and he died peacefully, at home, in Peculiar, Missouri, on March 14, 2024, surrounded by family and never ending love.
Gary gained his love of sports while playing high school football, and adult competitive softball for many years. He went on to enjoy teaching, and coaching, his brother, son, grandsons, and nephews, for many years after his own playing days were behind him, and he spent countless hours on the field, and in the stands, cheering on his favorite players, of whom he was their biggest fan. He made it a priority to attend as many games possible, for the remainder of his days. Further, Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, long drives (day trips), off-key singing, Hallmark movies, being by the ocean, and simply spending time joking around and laughing with his wife Donna, the rest of his family, and the many friends that he made throughout the years. Gary was a hard working, detail oriented, and dedicated sales associate and manager for Jaydon, Inc. for 18 years, and then for McKeever's Price Choppers for 24.5 years until his retirement in 2019. Although Gary was a successful salesman and leader, he was first and foremost, a family man to his very core, and it is those memories that Gary made with his family and friends that will forever be his gift to the world that will remain in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
Gary is survived by his wife, Donna, son, Michael (wife Tina), daughter, Valerie, two great-grandchildren which Gary and Donna legally adopted in 2022, Aislynn and Mason, grandchildren, Sammantha, Kacy (husband Matt), Colby, and Brady, great-grandchildren, Parker, Lylah, Serenity, Harmony, Elora, and Symphony, brother, Tom (wife LaDonna), and many in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, who may not have been related by blood, but are family all the same.
A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held in Gary's hometown on April 27, 2024, visitation will be held from eleven o’clock (11:00 A M.) to one o'clock (1:00 P.M.) with the service commence at 1:00 P.M., at Covenant Grace Church, 10706 Spring Town Road, Mineral Point, Missouri, 63660. A dinner will be provided, at the church, following the service.
