Garry Turnbough

January 8, 1934 — March 6, 2008

Dr. Garry Lee Turnbough of Potosi, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2008, having reached the age of 74 years, one month and twenty-six days. He was born on January 8, 1934 at Quaker, Missouri, a son of the late Louie Turnbough and Mabel (Midgett) Turnbough.

Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include his daughter, Donna Woods and husband, Steven of Potosi; his grandchildren, Bradley Lynn Turnbough and wife Jessica Turnbough, Brandon Jasper Woods, Patrick Lee Woods, Stephanie LeeAnn Woods; great grandchildren, Logan Turnbough and Chole Turnbough

Dr. Turnbough had a fantastic time of fishing and hunting. He was taken on his first coon hunt by his Grandpa John Midgett when he was 4 ? years old, with an old red bone hound that was 16 years old. No coon was treed that night but a seed was planted.

Shortly before his rotation back to state side, while serving his country in the US ARMY, Dr. Turnbough was selected to grade the road up Mt. Sirobochi on Imo Jima. This was the road to where the Marines raised the flag in WW2. Dr. Turnbough was selected to do the above job by Captain Raymond J. Kennedy, Company Commander. Dr. Turnbough served during the Korean Conflict.

Upon being released by the Army, his father Louie Turnbough requested that he get a degree in chiropractic. On January 30, 1959 Dr. Gary Turnbough graduated from the Missouri Chiropractic College and was a member of the SUMA CUMLAUDE. After graduation Doc. did advance work in clinical nutrition and naturopathy.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. David Hopkins officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Woods, Jimmy Woods, Mike Lewis, Shane Woods, Tony Hutchings and Mike Newhouse.

Interment and final prayers were held at the Antioch Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
