Freda Eileen Maxwell of Caledonia, Missouri, was born on September 1, 1932 in Frankclay, Missouri, a daughter of the late Frank and Lily (Doty) Todd. Freda passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, five months, and nineteen days.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include her children: Arthur Lee (Lana) Maxwell, Beverly (Gale) Wells, Tracy (Shelley) Maxwell, Tony (Deanna) Maxwell; grandchildren: Tim (Kathy) Maxwell, Kimberlee Hughes, Robby (Kayla) Wells, Randy "Spud" (Lynda) Wells, Ryan (Candace) Maxwell, Adam (Tiffany) Maxwell, Chris (Christine) Jinkerson, Phillip Maxwell, Michael Maxwell; a host of great grandchildren; siblings: Marilyn Sadler, Ruth Dudley, Sue (Richard) Battreal, Judy Todd, Dale Todd, and Bill (Barb) Todd. Freda is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and community friends.
In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Kevin Maxwell; siblings: Jo Anne Scott, Bob Doty, Dusty Todd; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Curtis and Lena (Rutledge) Maxwell.
Freda was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club, Cedar Lodge Ladies, and the Caledonia United Methodist Church. She published the South County News for many years, and was a past Cub Scout Leader for Troop 455 of Caledonia. She enjoyed cooking and would feed anyone working on the farm. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, resale shops, and reading all of the cards in the card isle at Walmart.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm and will continue Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 9 to 11 am at DeClue Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11 am with Elder Leonard Compton officiating, assisted by Sister Carol Brown. Interment will follow at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.
